As gasoline prices continue to rise, President Obama on Thursday pushed back on attacks from Republicans that he is blocking the Keystone XL oil pipeline and is against drilling, arguing his administration has added enough new oil-and-gas pipelines to "encircle the Earth and then some."It brings me to tears, just not from laughter. Highest March gas prices evah!
The average price of a gallon of regular is now $3.87, the highest recorded price in March. The average price is up nearly 4 cents from a week ago, and over 30 cents from a year ago, according to the Department of Energy, as more drivers face gas prices of $4 a gallon or more across the country.Vote accordingly in November. Contrary to what the liar says.
At least 86 billion barrels of oil in the Outer Continental Shelf yet to be discovered, according to the government's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management.
About 24 billion barrels in shale deposits in the lower 48 states, according to EIA.
Up to 2 billion barrels of oil in shale deposits in Alaska's North Slope, says the U.S. Geological Survey.
Up to 12 billion barrels in ANWR, according to the USGS.
As much as 19 billion barrels in the Utah tar sands, according to the Bureau of Land Management.
Then, there's the massive Green River Formation in Wyoming, which according to the USGS contains a stunning 1.4 trillion barrels of oil shale — a type of oil released from sedimentary rock after it's heated.Enough to get gas prices back to $2.00 a gallon, and put some fear into the middle east.

Secretary Chu Is Proud Of High Gas Prices

Prices are still not high enough.
The Energy Department isn’t working to lower gasoline prices directly, Secretary Steven Chu said Tuesday after a Republican lawmaker scolded him for his now-infamous 2008 comment that gas prices in the U.S. should be as high as in Europe.
Instead, DOE is working to promote alternatives such as biofuels and electric vehicles, Chu told House appropriators during a hearing on DOE’s budget.Seems to be a recurring theme for these creeps.
But Americans need relief now, Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-Miss.) said — not high gasoline prices that could eventually push them to alternatives.
“I can’t look at motivations. I have to look at results. And under this administration the price of gasoline has doubled,” Nunnelee told Chu.Gas prices doubling under Obama's watch is not enough to get everyone into golf carts yet.

The carnival barker hardest hit.
I say he will still blame Bush, but at least some are waking up.
Thanks Barack!
These guys better get that algae to the pumps quick...
I say he will still blame Bush, but at least some are waking up.
While he waits for a GOP nominee, Obama has carved out his re-election campaign path against a do-nothing Congress, but 61 percent of those polled said they blame Obama for the economy’s slow recovery while only 21 percent hold Congress responsible. On a brighter note, gas went up another $.10 a gallon here this morning...$3.64 and rising every few days.
Thanks Barack!

The man is shameless.
the several reasons for high prices...
President Obama does not “accept responsibility” for high gas prices, his spokesman indicated today, arguing that Obama has done everything he could to bring down the price of oil and blaming the high gas prices on oil price increases caused by global factors. One doesn't have to look very far to find

You may have to walk to get there though.
Its the only way to make those plug in cars nobody wants more attractive.
Get ready for another round of pain at the pump: $4 (or higher) gasoline.
After rising 19 cents a gallon in the past four weeks, regular unleaded gasoline now averages $3.48 a gallon, vs. $3.12 a year ago and $2.67 in February 2010.
Prices could spike another 60 cents or more by May. "I think it's going to be a chaotic spring, with huge price increases in some places," says Tom Kloza of the Oil Price Information Service. Kloza expects average prices to peak at $4.05, although he and other industry trackers say prices could be sharply higher in some markets.Obama needs prices higher, they are only up 83% since he took over.
